TRILOS TR80A is a pilot-scale three roll mill designed for pilot-scale production and process validation. Featuring a digital touchscreen interface and adaptive apron system, TR80A significantly enhances operational precision and consistency.
With particle size reduction capability down to 1 μm, TR80A bridges the gap between laboratory development and full-scale manufacturing. Integration with the TRILOS IoT platform enables remote control and process parameters preset.

The TRILOS IoT Platform
The TRILOS IoT platform pioneers in the three roll mill industry. It enables remote monitoring, parameter adjustment, and multi-step process execution via tablet, supporting smart manufacturing and process traceability.
Intelligent Touchscreen Control System
A pop-up touchscreen interface displays real-time parameters including roll speed, roll gap, and apron pressure. Operators can store formulations and review historical data.
Adaptive Apron Technology
The automatically controlled apron maintains optimal contact with the apron roll, ensuring consistent material transfer and eliminating variability associated with manual adjustment.
Light Weight Carbon Fiber Housing
The housing of the TR80A is made of carbon fiber, characterized by a light weight and solid structure, providing effective protection against minor impacts during handling and transportation.
Flexible Ceramic Roller Options
Rollers are manufactured from high-performance ceramic materials and can be customized to match material sensitivity and processing requirements:
- Zirconia (ZrO₂): Smooth surface, high toughness, extremely low metal contamination. Ideal for advanced materials and pharmaceutical formulations.
- Alumina (Al₂O₃): High hardness, moderate surface roughness, suitable for inks and coatings with lower purity requirements.
- Silicon Carbide (SiC): Extremely high hardness and wear resistance, suitable for abrasive or high-viscosity materials with minimal contamination risk.
High-Reliability Roller
The ceramic rollers are precision-ground and paralleled to ensure long-term operational stability. The rollers resist deformation, fracture, and misalignment even under extended operating conditions.
Circulating Water Bath
TRILOS circulating water bath transfers the cold water into the three roll mill and cool the rollers, circulating the warm water back to the water bath.
Customized Service
Optional safety light curtains, feeding machines, barred feed hopper and other auxiliary devices are available to meet site-specific safety requirements.
